Anežka Macey-Dare

Anežka completed her intercalated BSc in Neuroscience and Mental Health at Imperial College London as part of her medical degree, before starting her DPhil in Pharmacology. She has previously worked on a range of neuroscience and pharmacology-related projects in Oxford (Ellender and Magill Groups) and Cambridge (Khaled Group). More recently, she conducted her BSc project at The Neuro, McGill University in Canada (Avoli Group), investigating the evolution of interictal spike types during the epileptic ‘latent period’.
Her current research focuses on understanding how exposure to antibodies produced by a mother during pregnancy may change the way the brain of her offspring develops, and how this may give rise to disorders including autism, learning disabilities, and schizophrenia.
