Working closely with the Head of Department, I am responsible for the general oversight of the administrative function of the Department along with our Deputy Administrators Carolyn Thackrah – Personnel, and Paul Adams – Building and Security.
As well as coordinating the general functions of the administrative and support team, I am responsible for:
All aspects of the financial management of the department;
All aspects of grant management, both pre and post award;
Payroll - monitoring monthly payroll and related analysis and dealing with queries;
Oversight of the IT function
I have a Bachelor of Accounting Science from Unisa – South Africa, and served my articles with Coopers & Lybrand in Zimbabwe. I have been with the University formally since 2006.
The Finance Team
Jimmy works closely with Lauren Dumbleton and Sarah King in the Finance team.
In his role as Administrator, he also works with Paul Adams and Carolyn Thackrah, Deputy Administrators for Buildings and Personnel respectively to ensure that all members of the Department receive the support they need.
